Garie Beach to Eagle Rock

Previously on my blog I have shared an amazing walk – Garie Beach to Bringing Palms. This time I decided to find out what was on the other side of Garie Beach. Waterfalls, ocean views and a perfect view of the landscape.

About the rock:

  • Eagle rock is famous for the formation and the amazing view from the lookout.

The track:

  • This walk from Garie Beach to Eagle Rock is a perfect way to experience the coastline of the Royal National Park. As you watch look out at the surfers and see if you can spot any whales.
  • Stunning views the whole track.
  • Enjoy a dip in the beach before you head home.
  • 3 hours approx.
  • 7.7 kilometers return.
  • Grad 4.
  • Difficulty: Easy to moderate.
  • Calories burnt: 950.

Important to know:

  • Wear suitable working shoes and clothing.
  • Make sure to pack water – and if you are like me and need to refuel for energy, make sure you make some nuts and fruit.
  • There is no wheelchair access.
  • There is a lot of stairs to climb.
  • Park entry fee: $12.
  • There is a toilet and drinking fountain at the start of the track.
  • If it is a hot sunny day and you are up to walking an extra kilometer – head to Marley Beach visiting the rock for a swim in a secret beach that can only be accessed on foot.

How to get there:

  • Head into the National park and follow the signs to Garie Rd, Royal National Park and then if you are facing the water start the track on the left hand side.
